Challenge For the Year

Welcome to a new school year!

It is great seeing all of our students back on campus! After a very quiet summer, it is wonderful hearing the students telling stories, laughing, and learning together again.

The 2020-2021 school year marks a unique time for everyone. This school year is a new experience for everyone and we are all learning and growing together. There may be some bumps along the way, but I know our students, teachers, and families can handle it.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many of our students and families since coming to Saint Andrew's back in 2014 as a first grade homeroom teacher. Working with our younger students and watching them grow as learners over the years has been such an enriching experience as an educator. Two years ago, I switched gears and took over as our technology teacher and, again, got to witness our students discover new skills and interests. It was also a lot of fun getting to work with some of my former first graders again and seeing how much they've grown and changed (or not) over the years. And now, in my new role as Director of Teaching & Learning, I'm excited to dive into our overall academic program and to work closely with all of our teachers and students. Saint Andrew's is a unique school with a great staff and awesome group of students.

My challenge for students (and teachers and families) this year is to be your best self and to believe in yourself. Everyone is different and we all bring a different experience and background to our school community. Believe in yourself and do your best. It's going to be an interesting year filled with many unknowns. Trust in yourself and you'll do great!
