Board of Governors

The Saint Andrew's Board of Governors provides leadership, governance, and strategic oversight vital to shaping the future of our school. The board ensures that Saint Andrew's continues to thrive, remain mission-driven, and offer an exceptional education for our students. Above all, our volunteer board members care deeply about the children of Saint Andrew's and the community in which they learn and grow.

Our family came to Saint Andrew’s Day School seven years ago when our two daughters started preschool. We were drawn to the school’s holistic approach to learning, the incorporation of the Church’s ministry, and the strong sense of community. It has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family and both of our girls are thriving. From the moment we first stepped foot on campus it just felt right – from the small class sizes to the outdoor learning spaces, and the amazing faculty and staff – we love how learning happens everywhere, making education real, joyful, and lasting.
More than anything, Saint Andrew’s feels like home and volunteering to serve on the board is a chance for me to give back to a school that has given so much to our family. I look forward to helping Saint Andrew’s continue to be a place that shapes the next generation.

We chose Saint Andrew's for our family because of the caring community and the challenging, integrated curriculum taught by supportive and kind teachers. My children have grown and flourished here in confidence, social skills, and academic subjects. They have been encouraged to try new things and supported through overcoming their challenges. I felt called to join the board to use my marketing background to help more families discover Saint Andrew's for their children.
I am honored to serve on the board as the Treasurer. As a member of the church and finance chair for the Church’s Unified Board, my involvement with the school stems from the missional needs of our combined community of Saint Andrew's. The opportunity to engage the kids and families of the school through our different ministries and outreach, seeing them grow in service, and having fun doing it is the true reward.
My hope is to continue to use my gifts and talents in finance and business to create a strong and sustainable community that continues to deliver on educational excellence and meeting the spiritual needs of the families driving Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors.

As an alumni and member of the Board of Governors, I couldn’t be prouder to say that I am also a parent to a rising 1st grader here at Saint Andrew's! Our teachers, curriculum, and community have made Saint Andrew's another home for us.
As a parent, I recognize that each child has unique strengths and areas they need to improve upon. Here, students have the support of innovative teachers who encourage their personal uniqueness, while providing guidance to help them grow. The Green School initiative also supports this by offering a flexible curriculum that can adapt to what our kids are interested in.
I believe that education is a team effort, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this journey with Saint Andrew's and be a member at large with the board.

It is an immense honor to be the Senior Pastor of Saint Andrew's United Methodist Church and Day School, but I get the extra blessing of being a parent of two Saint Andrew's students (and one Blue-Heron-in-Training) too!
I love that our kids get to grow personally, academically, and spiritually in a community that is rooted in grace and mutual care. Saint Andrew's is a truly unique place, and I am so grateful our family gets to be a part of it!
When I first visited Saint Andrew's eleven years ago I was immediately struck by the quality of the culture that was in evidence everywhere I turned. In classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces students were attentive, orderly, and fully invested in school. Teachers' engagement with students demonstrated careful planning and genuine care. Everyone I met seemed focused on embracing the challenges of teaching and learning.
My first impression remains true today. As the Head of School and a member of the Board of Governors, I strive to maintain and strengthen this remarkable school culture as our students learn to value hard work, high character, and a caring heart.

My son has been at Saint Andrew's since PreK and he is now in the middle school. We chose Saint Andrew's for its steadfast community that is so essential in nurturing and educating children.
As an executive in the non-profit industry and the PFA President, my goal is to continue to grow this community among the families, school, and church, to make Saint Andrew's the best for our children.

I am excited to join the school’s Board of Directors, bringing with me a strong commitment to the values that have shaped our family’s approach to education. As a family, we believe in the power of outdoor education to foster curiosity, resilience, and a deeper connection to the world around us. The farm and garden areas of Saint Andrew's bring out the curiosity and kindness in my children.
We also value small class sizes, which provide the personalized attention that allows each child to thrive, ensuring their unique needs are met and their individual potential is nurtured. Saint Andrew's has mastered both educational tools. I have watched my boys blossom and excel in their education as well as within the community that Saint Andrew's has created and fostered.
As a board member, I am dedicated to promoting an environment that balances hands-on, nature-based experiences with a faith-centered approach, creating a holistic, supportive learning environment where students can grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I am truly honored and excited to serve on the board of Saint Andrew’s Day School, a place that has become so dear to my family since my son began in pre-K 3. Initially, we only intended to stay through preschool, but we quickly fell in love with the school.
The small class sizes have fostered a nurturing environment and ability to connect with his peers and their families. We were blown away by the curriculum and what he learns. I’m especially thrilled that, before even turning 6, my son gets to explore dedicated science class, engage in technology lessons, and begin learning Spanish—opportunities that set this school apart and fuel my passion for supporting its mission.

Our three kids began their journey at Saint Andrew’s during the pandemic, and we have been part of this wonderful and caring community ever since. We were immediately drawn to Saint Andrew’s for its personalized education, faith-based environment, and the beautiful 20 acre campus that brings education and faith to life through nature.
Today, with our son in 5th grade and our daughter in 2nd grade, we have watched them grow in confidence, joy, and academic progress with each passing year. We are also grateful to be members of the Saint Andrew’s Methodist Church community under Pastor Emily’s leadership. After serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, I now work managing aerospace and technology projects, and I am honored to serve on the board as a Member at Large, giving back to a school that has already given so much to our family.

Saint Andrew’s is more than a school—it’s a community that truly lives its credo: Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. From our first visit, we saw a community where every child is known and supported in an environment that values curiosity, kindness, and confidence. I serve on the Board of Governors because I believe in an educational approach that blends academic excellence with creativity, reflection, and character development.
As a periodontist, I’ve learned the importance of listening carefully, making thoughtful decisions, and building trust—skills that guide my approach to board service. I see clear parallels between caring for patients and supporting a school community: both depend on teamwork, communication, and a shared commitment to growth.
Our teachers stand out for their professionalism and empathy, and I’m committed to supporting their work—and the students they guide. I’m also inspired by the school’s dedication to learning beyond the classroom: the garden program, green campus, and especially our beloved goats give students opportunities to explore, take responsibility, and connect with the world around them.
Programs like Big Buddy/Little Buddy model mentorship and empathy across grade levels, teaching students the importance of community, kindness, and leadership. Serving on the Board is a privilege and a chance to help sustain the creativity, warmth, and joyful learning that define Saint Andrew’s.

My family and I came to Saint Andrew's almost a year ago as my son entered 1st grade. We were drawn here because of the personalized education we felt that the administration and teachers could offer us. We felt heard and supported through every step of the way. My child goes to school happy every day and is showing more confidence and academic progress with each month that goes by.
I am honored to serve on the board as a member at large and am inspired to give back to a school that gives so much to my child. I hope to use my background in Education and Human Resources to further our short and long term goals for the school to better serve all of our students and school community.
As the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at Saint Andrew’s, I have the unique position of serving and being a resource for our families in both our school and church. It is an honor to partner with our families in the spiritual growth of their students while providing multiple and diverse opportunities to discover and live out their faith through discipleship, mission, and ministry.
In programs, such as Chapel and PreK Religion, I find great joy in teaching students our story with God and revealing His ways. Working alongside the collaborative, innovative, and creative staff of Saint Andrew’s, I see our students are affirmed, encouraged, and inspired to their greatest potential.
