Substitute Teachers


Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School, a preschool through eighth grade independent school just outside Annapolis, Maryland, seeks qualified per diem substitute teachers for all subjects in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Building and Grounds Manager


Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School, a preschool through eighth grade independent school just outside Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking a Building and Grounds Manager for the current academic year. This is a full time, year-round position. The Building and Grounds Manager reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations. The B&G Manager is responsible for ensuring that buildings and grounds are cleaned, maintained and utilized in a manner that fully supports the educational mission of Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School. Primary responsibilities include: *Collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations to develop facilities-related budget priorities. *Collaborating with Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church personnel to ensure smooth coordination of shared spaces. *Managing the receiving function. *Developing, maintaining and reporting all required environmental, health and maintenance standards as required by law and collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure compliance with all regional, state and federal laws and regulations as they impact the school. *Coordinating and managing outside contractors who are performing repair, maintenance, or construction work on campus, including working with county fire marshal for the annual fire safety inspection of the entire facility. *Organizing, overseeing, and participating in the daily cleaning and maintenance of school facilities. *Organizing and supervising the maintenance staff. Advancement Office Administrative Assistant


The Assistant reports directly to the Director of Advancement and Admissions. The Assistant performs administrative tasks in a highly organized and professional manner and provides an initial point of contact for the Advancement and Admissions Office. Careful attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required. The Assistant deals with confidential information, runs a variety of reports, keeps files and records current and provides general office support. Essential Functions: General Office Support

  • Maintain advancement office calendar coordinating events between Admission, Marketing, and Development
  • Coordinate and manage mailings
  • Carry out special projects as needed
  • Google Suit and Microsoft Office proficient
  • Other duties as requested by the Director of Advancement
Development Responsibilities
  • Donor letters: Prepare letters based on nature of gift
  • Maintain accurate gift records
  • Maintain records for all other giving campaigns
  • Support of the Director of Advancement in event planning
Marketing Responsibilities
  • Monitor Social Media Presence as requested by the Director of Advancement
  • Maintain predefined advertising calendar
  • Maintain photo archives
Admission Responsibilities
  • Maintains hard copy and digital filing system
  • Assists with recruitment and re-enrollment activities as needed
  • Create new student folders
  • Assists Director of Advancement with all special functions (Open House, Tours, Shadow Visits)
  • Assist prospective families
  • Schedule shadow visits
  • Coordinates volunteers for Open House and other events

Saint Andrew United Methodist Day School, located just outside Annapolis, Maryland, enrolls students in preschool through eighth grade.  Ours is a school with a rich, engaging environment that challenges students at every turn. Founded in the Methodist tradition and affiliated with Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, we are a welcoming community that invites families of all religious traditions to join us in the important work of helping young people grow into responsible, caring young adults.  From its founding in 1986, Saint Andrew’s has positively impacted the spiritual lives of its students by embodying the Methodist credo: Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.

 

Our rich academic program promotes in students the development of productive work habits and the mastery of essential  academic content and skills. Interdisciplinary lessons are commonly employed throughout the curriculum. Teachers design lessons that encourage our students to think creatively and work collaboratively.  

 

Since 2008, Saint Andrew’s has been recognized by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education as a Maryland Green School.  Our school is committed to employing sustainable practices and emphasizing environmental education. Teachers take advantage of our 20 acre campus to plan hands-on lessons incorporating resources like our Heritage Garden, the chicken coop, and our goats, Ivy and Joe, to foster in our students a deep appreciation for the natural world and to encourage them to be responsible environmental stewards.
