Celebrating Diwali

If you weren't aware, I have strong cultural ties rooted in India, and I wanted to take the time to talk about the country's biggest and most important holiday of the year, Diwali! This festival represents new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

Just like on Thanksgiving, during Diwali, people from India living across the world gather with family, share tasty food, and spend quality time together. In a time where coronavirus limits us severely from going out into the open and being with others, it is vital to cherish these moments with our families because that is what matters most. As we move forward into the year, hope is what will keep us together as a community. Hope is the strength by which a shattered world will emerge into the light. Happy Diwali!
