I started my career at Saint Andrew’s Day School as a Kindergarten teacher before moving to second grade. I was honored to receive the Saint Andrew's Teacher of the Year Award in 2019.
My first two years were filled with catchy poems to learn how to write letters, lots of crafts, and dress up time. I transitioned to Second Grade in 2018. In addition to my teaching duties, I’ve assisted in selecting the math curriculum, coaching the basketball and cross country teams, and staying up to date on teaching practices by taking professional development training. I received certificates in Edtech tools, AIMS distance learning, Singapore math, and guided reading.
During my free time, I enjoy trying new cooking recipes, watching Marvel movies, traveling, and spending time with my family. I'm a crafty person and enjoy crocheting, making lotions, and doing digital art.
My teaching philosophy: To provide my students with the tools to be successful academically and socially. To build their confidence to be willing to take risks and enjoy the journey.
