Thank you for your interest in our school.  Saint Andrew’s is a remarkable school with a rich, engaging environment that challenges students at every turn.  Along the way our creative, dedicated teachers provide the kind of careful guidance and support that young people need to find success.  While there is much to love about Saint Andrew’s, I encourage you to give special attention to these qualities that make our school distinctive.

Welcome To Saint Andrew's!

The Saint Andrew's Mission

A ministry of Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School seeks to create an educational community that promotes the growth of mind, body, and spirit.  A challenging interdisciplinary curriculum, enriched by the visual and performing arts, encourages each student to realize his or her own potential.  A community rich in ethnic, economic, and educational diversity teaches students the inherent dignity and worth of all human beings.  A commitment to environmental sustainability inspires students to become active, responsible stewards of the natural world.  A strong religious education program creates good citizens whose commitment to service manifests a deep respect for themselves and for others.

The Saint Andrew's Educational Philosophy

Relationships Within the Saint Andrew’s Community

At Saint Andrew’s, relationships are at the heart of our community. Students and teachers enjoy warm, respectful, and productive connections, where students feel both challenged and supported. Teachers and parents work together, communicating honestly and with a shared goal of helping children thrive. Students treat one another with respect and frequently collaborate to promote everyone’s growth and learning. Our faculty and staff share their expertise freely, fostering a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

The Saint Andrew’s Curriculum

The Saint Andrew’s curriculum attends to the full spectrum of human growth and development, with carefully planned activities in academics, the arts, and athletics. Character education, grounded in the United Methodist tradition of open hearts, open minds, and open doors, is infused throughout school life. Learning goals are developmentally appropriate, challenging students to build on previous knowledge while mastering new skills. Lessons are thoughtfully designed to meet clear objectives, offering students numerous opportunities to practice, receive constructive feedback, and demonstrate mastery through varied and multifaceted assessments. Interdisciplinary lessons across all grade levels encourage students to apply learning in multiple academic domains, while teachers differentiate instruction to address diverse strengths and needs. Engaging lessons capture students’ imaginations, promoting deeper understanding, and, consistent with our Green School certification, many lessons integrate environmentally sustainable practices and responsible stewardship.

Our Campus

Saint Andrew's is located in Edgewater just north of the South River Bridge on Rt. 2. We utilize our entire 20 acre campus as a living classroom. Students spend time in our garden and outdoor classroom all year. Weekly garden classes provide students with hands-on experience working with plants and animals.

Our Graduates

Saint Andrew's students matriculate to several area high schools each year. Members of the Saint Andrew's Class of 2023 will be attending Archbishop Spalding, Key School, DeMatha Catholic High School, St. Mary's Annapolis, Broadneck High School, The Calverton School, Georgetown Prepartory, The Severn School, Old Mill High School, and the South River STEM Program.
